Trucking business expands material management operations to South Carolina

(January 2025) Page Trucking, a family-owned trucking business entering its third generation, offers local, regional and long haul bulk and specialized transportation services via its three trucking companies Page Transportation, Page Environmental Transportation Company (ETC) and Page Molten Transportation Company (MTC), Inc. Each continues to grow, along with subdivision Page Material Management, an all-in-one warehousing, sorting, bricking, baling and trans-loading operation, that has expanded to 7 locations. The most recent opening in Piedmont, SC, is home to a vigorous industrial community and serves as a baling operation for metal management — taking loose scrap in and baled material out.

“It was a rapid spin up to accommodate a long-time customer opportunity in the Piedmont area with Magna,” said Dan Titus, President of Page Trucking. “The facility boasts a permanent baler as well as a portable unit for flexibility and optimal production. Alloy segregation and baling operations afford customers an ideal platform for remediating bulk scrap to be converted to a manageable and ready to transport bales for optimized consumption and reduced transportation costs.”

This continued expansion with Page Material Management presents an exciting opportunity for the company’s leadership, employees and customers, said Piper, noting how the staff came together to acquire, launch and successfully meet the customer’s demands in less than 30 days.

This continued expansion with Page Material Management presents an exciting opportunity for the company’s leadership, employees and customers, said Piper, noting how the staff came together to acquire, launch and successfully meet the customer’s demands in less than 30 days.

“The facility was relatively bare and Dan, his son Keith, the new Manager Dan Shobe, several new staff and a rotating group of PMM employees and Exit 40 mechanics deployed with little notice to the facility to set up bunkers, modify and repair balers and mobile equipment and ultimately spin up baling operations with untested alloys, using equipment that we didn’t have experience with in a new place,” she said.

In recognition of their stellar commitment to customer service, former Operations Manager Brad Stevens was promoted to Vice President of Operations in PPM, while Dan Shobe was promoted to Operations Manager.

Brad has managed the growth and diverse service offerings at Page Trucking’s Oswego location for over seven years, and brings his extensive experience managing every shape and form of metal material, his drive to expand into sales and staff development and commitment to sustainability and growth to his new role.

“Now we are entering what we believe is the next generation of our operations — sustainable and scalable operations in place for a more aggressive merger and acquisition strategy, more leaders and departmental experts across the necessary fields in the trucking and material management market. It’s an exciting next chapter to come,” said Piper.
